died march 23rd 1999 aged 63

jimmy (grandad) was a pit man most his working life but also worked in the leather factory and
helped build the swallow hotel, he kept pigeons most of his whole life
he live in scotswood with his doating wife dot he had 9 kids 5 daughters dot, linda, angela, diane,
and tracey 3 sons jimmy, stephen and alan and his adoptive daughter janice 20 grandkids, 16 great
grandkids (most he never met but know he'll love) and had 1 brother billy who he talked about
all the time and loved.
he died of cancer quite quick after being diagnosed but he was a strong man and we believe he
suffered a long time before he went and got checked
my grandad was a lovely man he loved life and wasnt affraid to live it. most the time if he wasnt at
the pigeons you'd find him in the bobby, or the crows nest enjoying a bottle of brown ale (one
of his indulgences in life) when he got drunk it used to be so funny my nanna used to go mad but she
misses those days so much.
grandad was a kind man he'd do anything for any one and if he had it you could have it.
i loved my grandad so much, i still do, the whole family does, we miss him millions and think about
him all the time especially me nanna.
